Lenny Kravitz is at tonight’s People’s Choice Awards to receive a special honor. But before grabbing his new trophy, he had the opportunity to wow the crowd with an exciting performance.
The 59-year-old legend was chosen to receive this year’s Music Icon Award because of his impact on the rock world. Since releasing his debut album, Let Love Rule, in 1989, he has shown a distinct, soulful style that mixes rock and funk, which his singles like Always on the Run and American Woman highlight.
“Lenny’s musical gift is truly unmatched. We’re thrilled to honor him as this year’s Music Icon and look forward to seeing what he brings to the stage,” Jen Neal, executive vice president of live events and specials at NBCUniversal Entertainment said in a statement.
Lenny Kravitz put on a multi-song arrangement set during the People’s Choice Awards ceremony. He kicked off with Fly Away and continued to rock the audience with songs like It Ain’t Over Til It’s Over, and Are You Gonna Go My Way. Here’s what everyone is saying about his performance.
