A bus full of Taylor Swift fans has been involved in a collision on the way to the megastar’s first Sydney show of her Eras tour. Dramatic pictures of the aftermath were shared by one of the passengers earlier on Friday to X (formerly Twitter).
User @CarmenBartolo9’s photos depicted an unoccupied bus driver’s seat alongside a damaged side mirror, along with a cluster of girls disembarking from the bus and proceeding along the motorway’s shoulder. In the caption to the post, she wrote ‘CANNOT MAKE THIS UP. Our bus got hit by a truck.’
Another user replied with ‘OMG is everyone OK? I hope you can still make the concert in time. Take care.’ The X user later responded, ‘Everyone is ok!! Luckily there was an almost empty bus not far behind we all squished on!!’
It comes as over 300,000 Swifties are expected to flock to Sydney’s Accor Stadium this weekend for the highly anticipated Eras Tour concert. In honour of the occasion, Sydney trains have rebranded to the ‘Tay Tay Express’ for fans travelling to Olympic Park.
Fans were thrilled to see public transport getting into the Swiftie spirit: ‘I’m in Melbourne and I want to catch this train’ one user wrote. ‘I would catch a train just for this,’ wrote another.
Olympic Park will be extra busy on Friday and Saturday night with blink-182 performing next door at Qudos Bank Arena. Swift is set to perform four shows in Sydney from Friday, February 23 through to Monday, February 26.
